Kieran Gillen and Jamie McKelvie have totally won me over with The Wicked + The Divine and the latest volume of the Young Avengers. The art is crisp and beautiful, the stories are clever and fun to read, and the characters have a lot of…character. I've heard nothing but fantastic things about Phonogram.
I think the creators themselves have said that Phonogram and The Wicked + The Divine are like sister books. Where Phonogram is about real people, The Wicked + The Divine is about, well, the divine.
I can't wait to dig in.
Today I also picked up the most recent issue of the marvelous Ms. Marvel.
She's finally figured out (for the most part) her powers. Now is where the fun really starts.
I've been pretty excited about seeing her finally interacting with the heroes she nerds out about. Looks like it's going to start now!
