About

Hi there, I'm Emily! I have a PhD from The University of Texas at Austin in music theory and an a television and film music scholar. During the week I work in IT specializing in Apple device management and deployment. I also am a freelance copyeditor and occasional writer for various outlets. I'm pretty handy in knitting and crochet, and also dabble in cross stitch and embroidery. I like to pretend I has a green thumb, though really my magic superpower is vegan baking. I live and die by all things Chicago sports, the Longhorns, and Butler men's basketball. My Loves: SVP & Russillo, Adventure Time, Mike Wilbon, kitties, Dandies vegan marshmallows, Berroco, Doctor Who. Major Dislikes: Skip Bayless, the Lions, Texas A&M, bad yarn joins, yarn snobs, slow walkers.

Keywords: music theory, musicology, film music, television music, knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, embroidery, stitches, teaching, photography, hermeneutics, popular culture studies, Mac administration, OS X, Casper, JAMF Software
